Ear Level Receiver

Look to Lexis™ for great-sounding, easy-to-use ear-level FM

Hearing-impaired students need and deserve the best sound quality possible in ear-level FM products. That’s why Phonic Ear is proud to offer the new Lexis wireless communication system.  Designed with children’s language development in mind, it's uniquely suited to the educational environment. Lexis offers great sound quality and numerous ease-of-use features, all with the convenience of ear-level FM. Lexis was very well received at its premiere at the AAA conference in San Antonio during the first week of April.

Superb Directionality

With its wireless beam-forming microphone array, the Lexis transmitter provides an amazing 8.5dB Articulation Index-weighted Directivity Index (AI-DI) to enhance speech understanding in noise. Advanced digital signal processing enables the four directional microphones and one omni-directional microphone to filter desired sounds, such as speech, from surrounding noise. This means mainstreamed students can enjoy better speech understanding in the cafeteria, in group projects, on the bus, in the car — anywhere that noise could interfere with communication.

Low Circuit Noise

In developing the Lexis system, we strove to achieve a lower equivalent input noise. Our success is clearly noticeable with an impressive total system signal-to-noise ratio of +55dB.

Convenience With Security

The Lexis receiver has all the plug and play convenience you expect of an ear-level FM system. A hearing care professional can easily connect the receiver to most BTE hearing instruments via an audio shoe. With simple yet secure connections to Oticon’s powerful Sumo hearing aids, you can rest easy knowing you're using the most durable FM interface available.

Gain Control: There When You Need It

To make sure you can fit Lexis to more hearing aids according to the, the receiver features an independent microphone sensitivity control. Adjustable within ±7dB, this control gives you power when you need it to ensure the most comfortable fit for your students.

Finally, A Practical Battery Solution

If you’ve worried about damaging your FM equipment by accidentally recharging alkaline batteries, you’ll be pleased to know that Lexis offers a sensible solution. Use whatever standard AAA batteries you like — cost-effective NiMH rechargeables or alkaline as an emergency backup. Our transmitter gives you the convenience of recharging in the unit with no worry about accidentally recharging alkaline batteries — our unique fail-safe system ensures that only the right kinds of batteries will charge.

More Efficient

We designed the Lexis receiver with efficiency in mind, too. There’s lower current use overall, and no power drainage in the off position. That means fewer battery replacements, less wear and tear, and greater convenience, since the receiver can stay attached, ready for use at any time.

Great Warranty

Phonic Ear has also put thought into the Lexis warranty. Your initial purchase features a 2 year warranty on the receiver and transmitter, 90 days on accessories. Also, a 1 year, 1 time loss and damage warranty with no deductible. Service contracts can also be purchased for up to 5 years of coverage in total and up to 2 time loss and damage. Contact customer service for more details.

173, 183, and 216MHz Compatibility

The Lexis system will be available in 173, 183, and 216MHz bands for use in numerous countries around the world. That means it can work with other popular products you may already own.
